Curator Notes

Attack on Titan 2 is Omega Force’s second game based on Hajime Isayama’s manga, retelling the story through the anime’s first two seasons with an original ending. Players swing through the air on omni-directional mobility gear to bring down Titans, and the sequel adds a character creator, a co-op story mode, and a town life mode built around relationships with the cast. Koei Tecmo released it in Japan on March 15, 2018, and in North America on March 20, 2018, with Nintendo Switch among the launch platforms. This filing opens the Attack on Titan lineage on the shelf.

Preservation Notes

Access Hardware
Nintendo Switch; compatible Nintendo Switch family hardware
Original Hardware
Nintendo Switch
Playback Compatibility
Nintendo Switch software is region-free. The retained game card is the primary access copy and runs on any Nintendo Switch console.
Preservation Concerns
Game cards are flash media; long-term charge retention, contact wear, and loss of the small card from its case are the principal risks. Any content delivered as an eShop download or update depends on Nintendo’s servers and is not preserved by the card alone.
Edition History
Released in Japan on March 15, 2018 (as 進撃の巨人2) and in North America on March 20, 2018; sold as A.O.T. 2 in PAL regions. The Final Battle expansion followed on July 5, 2019, both as an upgrade pack and as a separate retail edition, Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle, which is not this filing.
Access Status
Distributed at retail by Koei Tecmo, with a digital edition on the Nintendo eShop.
