Fallout Sonora: Southbound Through the Wastes

The only post–Fallout 2 adventure that felt like the real thing

After Fallout 2's credits rolled, Sonora was the only project that brought that feeling back — rough translation, punishing blind spots, and a Mexico-set wasteland worth every hour.

From the Editor

I just wanted to check in since things have been a little quiet around here.

Life and work have been keeping me busy lately, and between balancing everything, I haven't had as much time to dedicate to Bloodsoaked Media as I'd like. That said, I want to reassure everyone that this project is still very much alive and something I'm incredibly passionate about.

Part of the reason for the recent radio silence is that I've also been pouring a lot of time into another creative project that's closely tied to why Bloodsoaked Media exists in the first place. Without giving too much away just yet, I've finally started taking my first steps into game development. It's been challenging, exciting, and honestly something I've wanted to pursue for a very long time.

Bloodsoaked Media has always been about celebrating games as art, preserving the experiences they create, and sharing the stories behind them. Building a game of my own feels like a natural extension of that passion.

While that's taken a bit of my focus recently, it hasn't replaced Bloodsoaked. If anything, it's reminded me why I started this project in the first place.

There are still reviews to write, collection updates to share, and plenty of games I can't wait to talk about. I'll be back with new content soon, starting with a retrospective on the Ar Tonelico trilogy once I finish Qoga, followed by a piece on Black Flag Resynced in the near future.

Thanks for sticking around and supporting this little corner of the internet. It means more than you know.

Until next time, Dakota

P.S. Here are a few extra Black Flag screenshots from my playthrough that didn't make it into the upcoming article.
