Curator Notes

Azur Lane: Crosswave brings the shipgirls of Manjuu and Yongshi’s 2017 mobile game into a 3D naval action game, developed by Idea Factory and Compile Heart with Felistella. It launched on PlayStation 4 in Japan on August 29, 2019. The Nintendo Switch version followed in Japan on September 17, 2020, and in North America on February 16, 2021, including the Taihou and Formidable episodes that had been paid downloadable content on other platforms. This filing opens the Azur Lane lineage on the shelf.

Collection Documentation

The retained object is Idea Factory International’s North American retail edition of Azur Lane: Crosswave on a Nintendo Switch game card. Dedicated artifact views of the individual copy have not yet been filed; the gallery below is held open for that documentation.

Preservation Notes

Access Hardware
Nintendo Switch; compatible Nintendo Switch family hardware
Original Hardware
Nintendo Switch
Playback Compatibility
Nintendo Switch software is region-free. The retained game card is the primary access copy and runs on any Nintendo Switch console.
Preservation Concerns
Game cards are flash media; long-term charge retention, contact wear, and loss of the small card from its case are the principal risks. Any content delivered as an eShop download or update depends on Nintendo’s servers and is not preserved by the card alone.
Edition History
PlayStation 4 release in Japan on August 29, 2019. Switch release in Japan on September 17, 2020; North America February 16, 2021 (HAC-P-AXSWD); Europe February 19, 2021. The Switch edition folds in the Taihou and Formidable episodes and an expanded photo mode.
Access Status
Distributed at retail by Idea Factory International, with a digital edition on the Nintendo eShop.
