Curator Notes

Blasphemous 2 continues The Game Kitchen’s penitent pixel-art action from the first game’s Wounds of Eventide ending, returning the Penitent One to a new region of Cvstodia with three weapons to choose between. Team17 released it on August 24, 2023, on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. This filing opens the Blasphemous lineage on the shelf.

Collection Documentation

The retained object is Team17’s retail edition of Blasphemous 2 on a Nintendo Switch game card. Dedicated artifact views of the individual copy have not yet been filed; the gallery below is held open for that documentation.

Preservation Notes

Access Hardware: Nintendo Switch; compatible Nintendo Switch family hardware
Original Hardware: Nintendo Switch
Playback Compatibility: Nintendo Switch software is region-free. The retained game card is the primary access copy and runs on any Nintendo Switch console.
Preservation Concerns: Game cards are flash media; long-term charge retention, contact wear, and loss of the small card from its case are the principal risks. Any content delivered as an eShop download or update depends on Nintendo’s servers and is not preserved by the card alone.
Edition History: Released August 24, 2023 across platforms; the North American Switch physical edition (HAC-P-BBLYA) is dated September 15, 2023. A Collector’s Edition was issued by SelectaPlay in July 2024.
Access Status: Distributed at retail by Team17, with a digital edition on the Nintendo eShop.
