Curator Notes

Castle Crashers is The Behemoth’s hand-drawn, four-player beat-’em-up with light role-playing growth, drawn by Dan Paladin. It first released on Xbox 360 on August 27, 2008, and was remastered in 2015. The Remastered edition came to Nintendo Switch digitally on September 17, 2019. The Behemoth took pre-orders for a physical edition through its own store from September 18 to October 18, 2023, its first physical release in years, shipping with a character unlock guide and a sticker sheet. This filing opens the Castle Crashers lineage on the shelf.

Collection Documentation

The retained object is The Behemoth’s store-exclusive physical edition of Castle Crashers Remastered for Nintendo Switch, shipped from November 2023. Dedicated artifact views of the individual copy have not yet been filed; the gallery below is held open for that documentation.

Preservation Notes

Access Hardware
Nintendo Switch; compatible Nintendo Switch family hardware
Original Hardware
Nintendo Switch
Playback Compatibility
Nintendo Switch software is region-free. The retained game card is the primary access copy and runs on any Nintendo Switch console.
Preservation Concerns
Game cards are flash media; long-term charge retention, contact wear, and loss of the small card from its case are the principal risks. Any content delivered as an eShop download or update depends on Nintendo’s servers and is not preserved by the card alone.
Edition History
Castle Crashers released on Xbox 360 on August 27, 2008; Remastered on Xbox One on September 9, 2015. Nintendo Switch eShop release September 17, 2019. The physical edition (HAC-P-ASVGA) was sold only through The Behemoth’s store.
Access Status
Sold only through The Behemoth’s online store during a limited pre-order window; now circulates through the secondary market. The digital edition remains on the Nintendo eShop.
