Curator Notes

DUSK is David Szymanski’s homage to the shooters of the 1990s — Quake, Blood, and their kin — across three episodes of rural horror, with music by Andrew Hulshult. New Blood Interactive released it on PC on December 10, 2018. New Blood’s own Nintendo Switch port released on October 28, 2021, running at 60 frames per second. Limited Run Games produced the physical edition as Switch Limited Run #118, taking pre-orders in 2021 and shipping in 2022.

Collection Documentation

The retained object is Switch Limited Run #118, Limited Run Games’ physical edition of DUSK, with a full-colour manual and a reversible cover. Dedicated artifact views of the individual copy have not yet been filed; the gallery below is held open for that documentation.

Preservation Notes

Access Hardware: Nintendo Switch; compatible Nintendo Switch family hardware
Original Hardware: Nintendo Switch
Playback Compatibility: Nintendo Switch software is region-free. The retained game card is the primary access copy and runs on any Nintendo Switch console.
Preservation Concerns: Game cards are flash media; long-term charge retention, contact wear, and loss of the small card from its case are the principal risks. Any content delivered as an eShop download or update depends on Nintendo’s servers and is not preserved by the card alone.
Edition History: PC release December 10, 2018, after early access. Nintendo Switch eShop release October 28, 2021. Limited Run Games issued the physical edition (HAC-P-A76WA) as Switch Limited Run #118.
Access Status: Limited Run Games’s physical edition was a limited production and now circulates through the secondary market. The digital Switch edition was issued separately on the Nintendo eShop.
