Curator Notes

Emio – The Smiling Man opens with a schoolboy found dead, a paper bag with a smiling face over his head — echoing an unsolved string of murders eighteen years earlier and the urban legend of the Smiling Man. Yoshio Sakamoto wrote and produced it. It was the first new Famicom Detective Club game in 27 years, following MAGES.’ 2021 remakes of the two Famicom originals, and released worldwide on August 29, 2024. This filing opens the Famicom Detective Club lineage on the shelf.

Collection Documentation
