Curator Notes

Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel is the Interplay console outing many readers of the series treat as a detour — an action game that borrows the Brotherhood name and a slice of the setting while leaving the isometric CRPG structure behind. That contested status is exactly why the disc belongs on an archival shelf rather than only in argument. The North American PlayStation 2 release (SLUS-20539) arrived in January 2004 from Interplay Entertainment. It shares the Fallout series authority with later Bethesda and Obsidian holdings without pretending those eras are continuous in authorship or design. This filing records the optical object as issued. It is not a ranking against Fallout 3 or New Vegas, and it does not invent a rehabilitation. It keeps the branch so the name on other spines is not the only Fallout story the shelf can show.
