Curator Notes

Jersey Devil reached Europe before North America — an Ocean release first, then Sony Computer Entertainment America’s SCUS-94907 edition in 1998. Behaviour Interactive’s 3D platformer belongs on this shelf as another path through the console’s mascot-era action catalog: not a first-party icon that defined the hardware’s advertising, but a published Sony disc that still circulated through the same retail channel. The filing keeps the North American object because that is the edition this archive holds. European and Japanese packaging tell neighboring stories; they are not invented here as substitutes for the pressed copy in custody. Together with Wild 9, the title balances the Original PlayStation collection’s RPG and horror weight with platform action — evidence that the black-disc shelf was never only one genre’s history.
