Curator Notes
Parasite Eve II is the second Square PlayStation chapter in a line that began by fusing cinema, role-playing structure, and survival-horror pressure. Where the first game announced that mixture, the sequel records how Square carried Aya Brea forward on the same black-disc generation — two pressed discs, a revised combat cadence, and a North American release under Square Electronic Arts rather than under Sony’s first-party label.
The filing is kept so the Parasite Eve lineage on this shelf is not left as a single unfinished note. An archive that holds only the idea of the series, or only later digital reissues, would erase the physical form in which the sequel circulated here.
This copy is the North American two-disc retail object. It belongs with the Original PlayStation collection as evidence of Square’s late-nineties survival-horror RPG work on optical media, not as a ranking against the first game or against what followed under later company names.

The retained copy is the North American PlayStation edition published by Square Electronic Arts (SLUS-01042 / SLUS-01055). It remains complete in box with both discs, manual, and cover insert, and is kept as the reference copy for this sequel filing.

- First issued in Japan on December 16, 1999 (SLPS-02480 / SLPS-02481). The North American localization followed in 2000 under Square Electronic Arts as Parasite Eve II (SLUS-01042 / SLUS-01055). European territories also received 2000 PlayStation releases.
- Access Status
- The original physical edition is out of print and circulates through the secondary market. Later digital reissues on PlayStation Network do not replace this two-disc reference copy.
