Curator Notes

Death end re;Quest splits between two worlds: programmer Arata Mizunashi in reality and his colleague Shina Ninomiya, trapped inside their unfinished VRMMO, World’s Odyssey. Battles can shift between game genres, and many paths end in gruesome bad endings. Makoto Kedōin, writer of Corpse Party, wrote the scenario. It released on PlayStation 4 in Japan in April 2018. Idea Factory International brought it to Nintendo Switch in the West on April 27, 2021, with all 36 earlier add-on items included; the physical edition was distributed through Limited Run Games, outside its numbered series. This filing opens the Death end re;Quest lineage on the shelf.

Collection Documentation

The retained object is Idea Factory International’s physical edition of Death end re;Quest for Nintendo Switch, distributed by Limited Run Games, with a reversible cover. Dedicated artifact views of the individual copy have not yet been filed; the gallery below is held open for that documentation.

Preservation Notes

Access Hardware
Nintendo Switch; compatible Nintendo Switch family hardware
Original Hardware
Nintendo Switch
Playback Compatibility
Nintendo Switch software is region-free. The retained game card is the primary access copy and runs on any Nintendo Switch console.
Preservation Concerns
Game cards are flash media; long-term charge retention, contact wear, and loss of the small card from its case are the principal risks. Any content delivered as an eShop download or update depends on Nintendo’s servers and is not preserved by the card alone.
Edition History
PlayStation 4 release in Japan on April 12, 2018; English release February 19, 2019. The Western Nintendo Switch release (HAC-P-AZY2C) followed on April 27, 2021, with all prior add-on content built in; the Japanese Switch version was download-only.
Access Status
Limited Run Games’s physical edition was a limited production and now circulates through the secondary market. The digital Switch edition was issued separately on the Nintendo eShop.
