Curator Notes

Code Z is a roguelike spin-off set between the first two Death end re;Quest games. Sayaka Hiwatari explores shifting dungeons in the parallel world DE-1.5, and her more than one hundred possible deaths make her stronger with each run. Compile Heart released it in Japan on September 19, 2024. Idea Factory International cancelled the Western Switch version in December 2024, citing Nintendo’s content guidelines; eastasiasoft issued an Asian English edition for Switch on July 24, 2026. The filing closes the Death end re;Quest lineage on the shelf as it stands.

Preservation Notes

Access Hardware: Nintendo Switch; compatible Nintendo Switch family hardware
Original Hardware: Nintendo Switch
Playback Compatibility: Nintendo Switch software is region-free. The retained game card is the primary access copy and runs on any Nintendo Switch console.
Preservation Concerns: Game cards are flash media; long-term charge retention, contact wear, and loss of the small card from its case are the principal risks. Any content delivered as an eShop download or update depends on Nintendo’s servers and is not preserved by the card alone.
Edition History: Released in Japan on September 19, 2024 (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch). Western PlayStation versions followed on May 13, 2025; the Western Switch version was cancelled. eastasiasoft’s Asian English Switch edition released July 24, 2026, alongside a numbered Limited Edition.
Access Status: Issued for Nintendo Switch in English only through eastasiasoft’s Asian edition.
