Curator Notes

Disgaea 4 follows Valvatorez, a vampire tyrant turned Prinny instructor, whose obsession with sardines and with keeping his word leads him to overthrow the Netherworld’s Corrupternment. First released on PlayStation 3 in Japan in February 2011 and expanded on PlayStation Vita as Disgaea 4 Return, it came to Nintendo Switch as Disgaea 4 Complete+ on October 29, 2019, with the Return content and previously released add-ons included. The filing joins the Disgaea lineage on the shelf.

Collection Documentation

The retained object is NIS America’s “A Promise of Sardines Edition” of Disgaea 4 Complete+ for Nintendo Switch, with a bookmark, a double-sided poster, and a reversible cover. Dedicated artifact views of the individual copy have not yet been filed; the gallery below is held open for that documentation.

Preservation Notes

Access Hardware: Nintendo Switch; compatible Nintendo Switch family hardware
Original Hardware: Nintendo Switch
Playback Compatibility: Nintendo Switch software is region-free. The retained game card is the primary access copy and runs on any Nintendo Switch console.
Preservation Concerns: Game cards are flash media; long-term charge retention, contact wear, and loss of the small card from its case are the principal risks. Any content delivered as an eShop download or update depends on Nintendo’s servers and is not preserved by the card alone.
Edition History: Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten released on PlayStation 3 in Japan on February 24, 2011. Disgaea 4 Complete+ released in North America on October 29, 2019 (HAC-P-AUQNB), and in Japan on October 31, 2019.
Access Status: Distributed at retail by NIS America, with a digital edition on the Nintendo eShop.
