Curator Notes

Disgaea 6 follows Zed, a lowly zombie whose power of Super Reincarnation lets him keep rising against a God of Destruction. It was the series’ first new mainline entry in six years, its first with 3D character models, and introduced automated battles, retries, and replays. It released in Japan on January 28, 2021, and in North America on June 29, 2021. The filing closes the Disgaea lineage on the shelf as it stands.

Collection Documentation

The retained object is NIS America’s Unrelenting Edition of Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny for Nintendo Switch, with a mini art book, a reversible cover, and a soundtrack download code. Dedicated artifact views of the individual copy have not yet been filed; the gallery below is held open for that documentation.

Preservation Notes

Access Hardware: Nintendo Switch; compatible Nintendo Switch family hardware
Original Hardware: Nintendo Switch
Playback Compatibility: Nintendo Switch software is region-free. The retained game card is the primary access copy and runs on any Nintendo Switch console.
Preservation Concerns: Game cards are flash media; long-term charge retention, contact wear, and loss of the small card from its case are the principal risks. The game is on the card; the Unrelenting Edition’s soundtrack is a download code, and additional characters and the season pass are eShop purchases, all dependent on Nintendo’s servers.
Edition History: Released in Japan on January 28, 2021, and North America on June 29, 2021 (HAC-P-AX7LB). A PC and PlayStation version, Disgaea 6 Complete, followed in 2022.
Access Status: Distributed at retail by NIS America, with a digital edition on the Nintendo eShop.
